The phenomenon of vampires has always appealed to me. Everyone kind of likes a vampire story because it almost could be true.

People try to make names for things they don't understand.

To God, thy country, and thy friend be true.

What is really beautiful must always be true.

Well, if you're true to yourself you're going to be true to everyone else.

My responsibility is to try to tell true stories. To me a true story is always hopeful, but never simply, uncomplicatedly happy.
