The people who can afford to move here in their 50s are affluent baby boomers. I think that trend will continue to drive our economy.

I don't see him as a victim; I think he's going to be happier not having to baby-sit a lot of egos. The music industry is firmly entrenched in its habits, and it's a very parochial, self- preserving industry.

The trend is not going to stop.

What we saw was a likely bifurcation of retailers this holiday season, with those catering to affluent consumers doing very well. The balance of retailers had to work harder for sales and do more discounting.

All of the sudden these people know more about our area than we do. They form all these groups and committees and tell everyone what they're going to do for the community.

A lot of people who move here aren't even aware how important the county was to the citrus industry. Even though there's not as much citrus grown here now, we try to pay respect to that history.
