The people I've spoken told me they learned a lot more than they ever knew previously. They understand that check fraud can affect anyone if you're not careful.

People have developed a false sense of security when it comes to checks. They feel check fraud is something that happens to someone else.

Because so many of these cases come up, the person usually gets off with a misdemeanor. This is especially true if the checks are under certain dollar amounts. Criminals sometimes know more about how the judicial system works than their victims.

Unfortunately, those safeguards can actually help crooks in manufacturing realistic-looking checks on their computers. Some of these checks look better than the real McCoy.

I would love it. That's what I've been working for. I'm not looking for the backup spot. I'm looking for the first spot.
