The panic of the Depression loosened my inhibitions against being different. I could be myself.

I like being different.

The way to make a difference in others life is to say only what they can’t; but to make it really good, do for them what they sanely need and not selfishly want.

Being different is making the right difference in the life of everyone by bridging the difference left between the reality of the word and the practicality of the world.

I know just what it's like to feel different from everyone else. And you know what? Being different can be pretty spelltacular!

Just remember this, Emma -- not every Jell-O salad turns out perfect. But it can still taste real good.
