The new Roberts court has sent a powerful and compelling message and that message is we don't give a damn about minorities in this country.

President Bush has nominated Roberts to become the most powerful judge on the nation's highest court. The public has a right to see documents that will give us more information about his judicial philosophy. If the White House continues to stall, then it begs the question, 'What is the president hiding, and why?' ... I applaud Senators Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold for stating they will ask Roberts the tough questions and expect clear answers. We are urging Wisconsinites who value freedom and privacy to call their senators and urge them to oppose Roberts' nomination.

[Roberts] is in exactly the same position that O'Connor and others have been, ... he's going to be on the court for 30 years, and those issues will continue to come before the court. There's no legal or ethical obligation to get rid of your holdings. But the other justices seem to have made a pragmatic decision that (doing so) is best for the operation of the court.

Today is a shameful day in the history of American jurisprudence, ... Today the U.S. Supreme Court has said in its ruling essentially that it is OK for a white prosecutor to kick all of the African Americans off of a jury.

Before they killed him, they enacted one last act of cruel and unusual punishment. They pretended they couldn't find the vein and caused him to writhe in pain. This went on for 25 minutes. And it took 10 minutes to kill him. A reporter called me the next day and said she had never seen such a barbaric scene.
