The museum is an important part of Picher's history and deserves a home of its own. We also need to make sure the integrity of the things that are on loan to the museum still belong to the original owners which would require some changes to the bylaws.

Whatever happens in the world - whatever is discovered or created or bitterly fought over - eventually ends up, in one way or another, in your house. Wars, famine, the Industrial Revolution, the Enlightenment - they are all there in your sofas and chests of drawers, tucked into the folds of your curtains, in the downy softness of your pillows, in the paint on your walls and the water in your pipes. So the history of household life isn't just a history of beds and sofas and kitchen stoves ... but of scurvy and guano and the Eiffel Tower and bedbugs and body-snatching and just about everything else that has ever happened. Houses aren't refuges from history. They are where history ends up.

They are always tough at home in the history of the tournament. We obviously matched up well and played well today. We feel lucky to have the lead and we are cautiously optimistic. The weather was perfect and the course is in great condition.

I'm happy to find a home, especially with the Reds, a great organization with a lot of history. It's an exciting time for me now.

If there is something I can do to make Picher a better place to live I want to do it. I was born and raised here and I intend to stay here.

I got a call from Joyce Cox. I was told that a meeting to elect officers was being held Jan. 30 for anyone interested in the miner's museum. At that meeting I was elected president and accepted. I didn't know there was anything wrong with what we had done.
