The money is sitting there and they don't even know they have it coming to them.

The money they get helps them to get above the poverty line.

Some of these owners have so much money they can literally call up a bank and get a $100 million loan on the spot. If they need to pay off a tax, they could easily get it financed.

That way they could use what would have been rent money for security deposits or moving expenses.

I think anytime you can offer someone a job with the possibility of these stock options and making extra money on top of your paycheck, that's an incentive.
