The market is actually putting on a pretty good performance in the face of this oil move up to new highs.

However, underlying performance is strong, amplified by high but volatile prices of oil, gas and products.

The market has a few more stocks up in the Dow just because of that.

The Dow is doing better on the back of Boeing.

We're kind of in a holding pattern, waiting to see what happens (with the storm). But the overall tone of the market seems lower, and it appears to want to go lower.

It's a bit surprising to see stocks up so much today, but the fact that the storm is not as strong as people were expecting it to be, has a part on today's advance.
