The kids watch TV and get this sense about how it's glamorous, or when you get shot, you're dead,

The kids that are out there doing this stuff to each other -- it's an awful waste of life and potential. It's terrible.

What does this mean to me? It means I have to coach another week. But if any group of kids ever deserved to advance to the national tournament, it's these kids. They've worked so hard and become a team in every sense of the word. This was a total team effort.

I can't tell you how proud I am of these kids. We just had so many kids step up again tonight.

I'm not one for Knute Rockne speeches and so I'm not going to start now. I did tell the kids the other night that they are my favorite team not because of the success we've had on the court. But because of the kind of people they are. They are just a tremendous group of young men.

That's the real key to this team. It's the most unselfish group of kids I have ever been around. They all put the team first and they care about each other. It's a very special basketball team in that way.
