The kids are thriving where they are now.

Of course, I liked it, but it was weird. With the Winona kids, I didn't make that big of an impact. Here I was, but it was up to them if I was on the team and if they were going to accept me.

The kids just don't get rattled. They like the challenge, to be honest. By playing all those years, they learned how to compete. The competitiveness and tradition at Powers is what carries them. They always think positive, and they have a refuse-to-lose attitude.

There's definitely a rivalry there. The kids feel it, and they play for it.

It wasn't the prettiest game we've played but this time of year, it's survival that matters. The thing that concerned me most is that they beat us at our own game a little bit. They created some things with turnovers and transition that we usually do.

Justin gave us a big lift. He came in and you could see everyone pick it up. It was like a shot of adrenaline.
