The issues seem to be the changing environment that we live in. There's much more access to in-home entertainment, there's much more competition with lots of different kinds of arts, and there's a lot more fear of the unknown.

The people who use (the vouchers) really like them, and some of them start calling us around now wondering when they're going to start giving them out. They love taking their kids and getting fresh fruits and vegetables.

That's what we put up with here. We don't need that type of stuff here.

I look forward to seeing (the festival) with great enthusiasm and with fingers crossed that it can really make a positive difference here by bringing people into a greater awareness that all different kinds of theater can be made and presented here,
