The issue of fetal pain is becoming much more significant in state legislatures. (The bill) would put Indiana on the cutting edge of an emerging issue.

I think this is just the beginning. This can be her legacy, that these issues will be debated.

Where a lot of this is coming from is the discussion several years ago surrounding partial-birth abortion. There was so much publicity surrounding that particular procedure and the idea of what the unborn child went through and the pain it felt.

Don't you see the resentment that he's carrying, the pain that he's carrying? He gets into these problems and situations. It hurts me so bad when he has these problems, because I know there's an inner hurt there.

The person who grieves suffers his passion to grow upon him; he indulges it, he loves it; but this never happens in the case of actual pain, which no man ever willingly endured for any considerable time.

If it gives me a lot of discomfort, a lot of pain for everyday activities -- whether it's sleeping, or picking something up or just every day activities. We might do something about it. Hopefully not.
