The imperfections in my family made me learn to deal with things on my own and solve problems for myself.

Having my own family has made me realise there's more to life than chasing the next job.

Writing gives me the opportunity to explore ideas, play with language, solve problems, use my imagination, and draw on my own childhood.

I needed to be myself and find my own identity.
