The idea was to develop a music class primarily for students who aren't a part of traditional school music groups.

Perfect weather and two solid performances kept the students bouncing from beginning to end.

I try to get them to think about and articulate what they like about it. But they soon find out it can be hard to use English language to describe art. I really press them to think beyond the borders they have penned themselves into in their limited music experiences.

This class gives students an opportunity to improve [the school],

I think it is a wonderful opportunity for the school, and several students have already signed up for the class. We will continue to offer this course if students are interested.

They have to look at what individual students have done rather than at their class rank because everybody that applies to them is in the top of their class.
