The girls were upset about last year and right now they just don't want the season to end. Because Wilson is so aggressive and athletic, we knew boxing out and defense would be the key. They were quicker than us, so we went to the zone.

We didn't want to give them any easy breathing room. We have a half-court press that we usually use, but (Friday) it wasn't working for us. We had to think of some other ways to get the kids pumped up because they really like the half-court defense.

Everything on paper says they're the best team in New Jersey, but you don't play the games on paper.

They needed that time to reflect and focus on what they wanted out of the season. It could've gone either way. We weren't sure how the kids were going to bounce back. Were they going to tank it or suck it up and do better?

None of my racing would be possible without Phil and his wife.

Sometimes I would race in two races, get a one race break and get back on for the next race. After that third race I would collapse when I got off my sled.
