The freedom that comes with (making music) is amazing. It?s addictive.

Everything has its roots in blues. I don?t care what kind of music it is.

The most important element to jazz music is being able to improvise. You learn the language of the music and you learn how to speak it. You use that knowledge to speak with your instrument. That?s the most fun part of music.

What is the difference between freedom and hedonism? Between freedom and insanity?

We had freedom, but the one thing that Chris and I agree on is that good music doesn't have to be judged in terms of length.

That's what's so appealing about it. I've always been attracted to the freedom and improvisational aspect of Roots music.
