The cross-border train service has not been abandoned altogether but there are still deliberations at government-to-government level. We expect to launch the service soon.

We expect to do a test run of the route before we resume service but that is likely to be done by May and everything will be on course after that.

Deliberations are still on-going but the fundamental concepts have been tackled. What we now await is the actual resumption of the train service.

As you are aware, since this project also involves the governments of Zimbabwe and Botswana, there are also deliberations at that level. We expect all the loose ends to be tied up soon.

The government has to be quite careful and not use the civil servants for any type of political service,

The Secret Service has worked in conjunction with not only government agencies but with industry partners in coming up with preventive measures for this type of equipment to make it more difficult to use illegally to produce counterfeit currency.
