The community has been very good to us and we wanted to show our appreciation. We thought of this as the best way to show that appreciation.

What we do best is business. It makes perfect sense to leverage our skills and knowledge of the business community toward this.

They retired last January and the reception provides a forum for us and the community to show our appreciation for their dedication. They were recognized with resolutions at the time and each presented with a crystal bowl in tribute to their many years of service.

We set a goal at something we felt was achievable. If we thought the community was going to give us $13,000 we would have set (the goal) higher. The community really came through today.

We'll have everything from water to aspirin for the jurors.

We look at it as an opportunity to promote Auburn more. Any proceeds generated will aid in the promotion of downtown.
