The brazen throat of war had ceased to roar, / All now was turned to jollity and game,/ To luxury and riot, feast and dance.

There are no politics in war. Politics is the luxury of the safe-at-home. War is a lottery of survival.

Nor war, or battle's sound / Was heard the world around.

War destroys men, but luxury destroys mankind; at once corrupts the body and the mind.

Give us the luxuries of life, and we will dispense with its necessaries.

The problem is, ... we don't get the luxury of legislating ownership. That would kind of cure this problem that I'm struggling with.
