The bottom line is that we have serious public-safety needs on our streets that are not being met. This very modest increase in the motor-vehicle tax could help us meet those needs.

It is theoretically possible for a substantial chunk of that revenue to displace those funds.

It's our responsibility to these individuals, who are coming here because there are jobs. They're filling positions and filling a market niche, contributing to the economy, and I think we need to provide services.

What we're looking for is to see if there are any safety issues that the FAA needs to address through some sort of action. Right now, it's too premature to speculate on any cause of action or the cause of the accidents.

Certainly,the Crown Vic is a very safe car. The safety record of the car is among the best in the industry.
