The bottom line is that I believe that Mr. Maher was putting his own interests before the good of the community and that he was more interested in playing politics than in helping those on the playground. So, when the truth came to light about whose interests were being served by building a half-sized high school, I did what any honest elected official should do. I put a stop to it.

I am very upset about the movement to oust Bill Hughes as chairman. Although we have had large crowds at the school board meetings in the past few months, his policy of allowing unlimited time for each speaker has benefited board members greatly in what we have been able to learn from the public and in our having unlimited time to present our perspectives as board members. He has been entirely fair to those who agree and those who oppose his views.

Watertown Luther Prep's got a nice team. We knew they'd bust out. We just didn't want it to happen tonight, and it did.

I thought the guys played a pretty good basketball game tonight. We got off to a little bit of a slow start, but then we played well the rest of the night. We did a lot of things well in the game.

We can't afford to lose any more if we have aspirations of a conference championship.

We went 2-3 in this rough stretch.
