The birds will sweep that on the ground. The only things that will eat it is pigeons, and that's not what you are trying to attract. Also, it will grow up in the yard as weeds.

Some birds might eat these in duress, but cheap seed products usually languish on the ground and become moldy.

The English eat all sorts of birds - pigeons, ducks, sparrows - but if you tell them you eat puffin, you might as well come from Mars.

It's going to put the cat among the pigeons, and that's not a bad thing, it seems to me.

This is not an issue of public forest management. It's an issue of private and state management. This is a critical distinction in terms of how the problem will be solved in the South and how it has been dealt with in the West.
