The best thing about Princeton is that there are no distractions.

I just come out to play. There's no distractions for me. I'd say that I'm comfortable out there, but I'm never in a comfort zone. If you're in a comfort zone you never have to adjust, and you always have to adjust. It's like that in life too when you think about it.

I went to M.I.T. in the summer of 1951. I had been an instructor at Princeton for one year after obtaining my degree in 1950. It seemed desirable more for personal and social reasons than academic ones to accept the higher-paying instructorship at M.I.T.

I think the good things are that you have no distractions. You can go to your hotel room, and get a good meal. The bad things are the familiarity with the field. When you play on your home field you know where your spatial presence is. Trips to the West Coast can take something out of you - the time change and playing at a different time of day each effect you a little bit. The fans make a difference too. I think the biggest thing is the familiarity and special comfort you have playing in your own stadium.

There's been no distractions. It's plain and simple why we're swimming real fast.

Coming to Princeton was no different than Penn State. It's just a difference in the color of the uniforms.
