The ambition of the mayor to get into the heart of the community is quite laudable. However, shutting off streets will do the exact opposite. If you have no way to get to Main Plaza, you have no reason to go there.

In the past, with a different mayor, Nelson Wolff was the lead player. Look at Toyota.

His goal is laudable, but it's misdirected.

We neither had the population or economic base that would support a team. The city didn't have the kind of wealth it needed. It didn't have a large enough middle class to pay the type of prices for NFL tickets ... some of that story has changed.

We have some small and very potentially powerful victories of late, and that's something to be excited about. But I wouldn't say that we are now as potent as Dallas or Houston.
