The agreement on the talks venue is the first step toward peace. We hope that the killings will stop and that the talks will get off in a friendly environment.

As far as we are concerned, we are committed ... and (the talks) will go ahead as planned.

The discussion at the forthcoming talks is to be on a meaningful cease-fire.

Obviously, we always hope that they will see their way to completing the Lusaka protocol and peace agreement, but all evidence to date suggests that this is not what they intend to do.

We have signed an agreement to bring peace to Kosovo. We hope that the force of the international community will make Yugoslavia sign. We say: the violence must stop.

An agreement like that will not bring peace. It will bring the opposite of peace,
