That's just been her beat out in that part of the county. There are towns that she reports on that don't exist anymore. It's just the basics. It's like the old quilting-bee kind of news where you just catch up with people through conversations.

The need is so great. We are pretty true to our mission. We are always bleeding for money, and everything goes back to the student.

It is pretty amazing to still see him going, but growing up with him you just knew it was something that he loved and he was going to stick with and try to be the best that he could at it.

I'm glad we came down and fought hard. We had some misfortunes. I thought [the officials] took us out of 103. We came down here thinking that we could win.

We used to have five correspondents. One of ours for health reasons had to retire a year or so ago, and we just haven't found anybody to replace her. It takes a certain type of person to keep up with things like that. It's not high journalism, but it's important news.

I love the outdoor festival feeling.
