That's a wonderful foundation because they can visualize the chords, the scales - and they can start as young as their attention span allows, at 4, 5 or 6.

Stringed instruments are good because you can get the sizes suitable for small bodies. The Suzuki method uses the same aural approach that a baby uses learning to speak.

I just want to get down to where I play my best, whatever weight that is. I just want to be where I feel comfortable out there.
