That kid we faced tonight is a very good pitcher. I think he threw two no-hitters last year. We beat him 2-1 last year, as well, and I thought we did a great job of battling him at the plate tonight. He's not a power guy but he's a great pitcher.

I tell you what, I'm proud of our kids. I felt like we had a great year. We got ourselves in an opportunity to get into the playoffs in a three-way tie for second in one of the toughest districts around. You can't ask for more than that. We battled and played hard the whole way. I'll tip my hat to those guys [Heritage] they played well.

We had some unbelievable defensive plays. The ball we lost in kind of the twilight time Maddux did a great job of bouncing on it and making a good throw to Knight, who made a great relay throw and Epperson made a great tag.

We didn't do a whole lot right tonight. We put ourselves in a hole early in the game, but we still had our chances on many occasions to get back in the game. We've got to have somebody step up and get the big one [hit]. That's what we're not doing right now. We're not getting the big hit in crucial situations.

He really has improved his technique. His style is much different. He attacks.
