Temperance is the balance of the masculine and feminine energies.

She is so bright and glorious that you cannot look at her face or her garments for the splendor with which she shines. For she is terrible with the terror of the avenging lightning, and gentle with the goodness of the bright sun; and both her terror and her gentleness are incomprehensible to humans.... But she is with everyone and in everyone, and so beautiful is her secret that no person can know the sweetness with which she sustains people, and spares them in inscrutable mercy.

Every man who is any kind of artist has a great deal of female in him. I act and give of myself as a man, but I register and receive with the soul of a woman. The only really good artists are feminine. I can't admit the existence of an artist whose dominant personality is masculine.

Understanding the shadow masculine or shadow feminine in oneself is
crucial not only for enhancing one ’s own wholeness but for championing
justice between genders and all diverse groups in the community. If the
shadow is not recognized and dealt with, it will dominate an individual or . . . community, resulting in untold suffering.

For some she came in a dream. For others in words as clear as a bell: it is time, I am here. She may come in a whisper so loud she can deafen you or a shout so quiet you strain to hear. She may appear in the waves or the face of the moon, in a red goddess or a crow.

Masculine and feminine aspects exist in all beings.
