[Tejada] has only been here two years, so I don't know what he's talking about. We're not spending $50 million on a closer who's been a closer for only one year and $55 million for a guy who hasn't won more than 12 games in a year. If that's what his criticism is based on, it just shows he wouldn't be a great general manager.

Earlier this year, with the financial stability of this organization in doubt, Governor Bob Ehrlich worked with me to guarantee a strong Baltimore Orioles organization for a generation to come. Together, we worked out a win-win situation for the citizens of Maryland. He deserves to be thanked by everyone associated with this team and by every baseball fan in the region.

They are deliberately preventing their subscribers -- who are paying good money every month -- from watching the team that they consider their baseball team.

If Washington was not the capital of the United States, there would have been no chance that a baseball franchise would be put within such close proximity to an existing franchise. But on that basis, I agree with the location because we in baseball say baseball is our national pastime, and I think there's a great deal of legitimacy to that.

We've made our decisions and joined in a contract with Major League Baseball. We intend to see that contract enforced.

We think that the two should be put together. We will work toward that. But, let them put the games on now.
