Take the poultry and meat packing industries. These used to be primarily native-born just 10, 12 years ago, and in some places ... they are now heavily foreign-born.

They're based on a lot of assumptions, but they're also based on some reality on the ground.

I think people will fight about the numbers. But the message here is clear: that people want to return and that people have started to return. Obviously, the city has not been abandoned.

Looking toward the future, we see a different face of the U.S. population. But I don't think that's necessarily new. It's a confirmation that this hasn't stopped or changed much.

There's no doubt that we are at a high in immigration to the United States.

Enforcement levels are up across the border, so it's not as easy to get back and forth.
