Storytelling is a folk art. All folks do it. It's how we stay connected to each other. It's art because it can be elevated to a very sophisticated level.

Storytelling is for all people. Storytelling is alive and well because people are so hungry for stories, they'll watch TV six hours a day.

I gravitated to Black Sabbath because it represented a form of proletarian folk art. Through the subject matter you get the social focus and strata of the working-class domestic interior that these objects were placed in. This amateur documentation had an aesthetically fugitive quality to it that I liked.

Folktales and Folk Art

We'll do it all for folks. If they know how long they'll stay, or even if they want to remain here permanently, we'll do what we can to ease the burden.

Passed down from generation to generation, storytelling was an art in my family.
