Special education kids are always going to struggle with that accountability piece because special education kids are in the program because they have learning disabilities,

The general education people are much more involved and they have come to a realization these scores affect the school district. It's not just a special education issue, it's a school wide issue,

I just think (this) has been blown out of proportion.

Every student has to take the test,

Is it a concern of ours? Yes, because we want the district to make AYP and we don't want special ed to be the reason the district doesn't make AYP,

Even though we've stayed very successful it's still been a struggle for our kids. There are times they'd like to get away from it. They joke about not being able to drive down the road without seeing their mom's face on a billboard or seeing her on TV.
