[South Main] is built on the principles of new urbanism, which are nothing new. It's essentially built around basic human needs, including places to work, places to shop, places to gather. The difference is that they're all within walking distance.

The reason we chose to do a project in Buena Vista is that it really represents the last [relatively] untouched place in Colorado.

Developers are the second lowest on the food chain in the United States. I think the only [profession] lower is the attorney.

We believe important principles are at stake. A judge can't tell a newspaper what it can or can't publish and a judge cannot restrict legitimate news gathering activities.

[Habersham, in Burton, follows these principles and was designed by new urbanism pioneers Duany-Plater-Zyberk, the same planners responsible for Rosemary Beach and Seaside on the Florida panhandle.] People are going to move here; the question is: Do we want to spread them all over the county or cluster them? ... We have to accept it and deal with it.

It is easier to fight for one's principles than to live up to them.
