Someone talked to the sheriff's department here in the county, and they said they would help. I was asked to be in charge of it. I did it because of Jon and Kathy.

All of the pieces, or different tasks (in the grant), are all things that are going to help us do a better job of managing the resources in Humboldt Bay.

He's been a tremendous help. I'm not a stat person; I look at the player. I know when they're playing well or not. He followed every stat probably the last two years and was on the computer every night bringing up this stat or that stat. I'm surprised he didn't tell me how many times they ate during the day.

By taking training now, they can be prepared when a disaster occurs to go and help, ... We need to get people trained as quickly as possible. And all of the classes are free, but people do need to register.

We felt like that was what we needed to do. We were a center designed to help people, and these people needed help.
