Some I see daily. Some come find me when they need things. Some I find when I see they are slipping.

They know they can call me no matter when. An English teacher's not going to have the time.

I'm their mom, I'm their worst enemy, I'm the person that kicks them in the butt. It's different roles for different students.

I truly fear for those who will need the program next year if it is not available. How can four core teachers serve 125 kids and then deal with this unique population?

When hope is not pinned wriggling onto a shiny image or expectation, it sometimes floats forth and opens.
