Since we (the officials) are bound to Rules Book, we have to treat all shots 'through the green' exactly the same, ... Sure it's imperfect but believe it or not, the rules have evolved over the years. Maybe this will too.

The entire handbook can be reduced to three rules. One: you do not touch your ball from the time you tee it up to the moment you pick it out of the hole. Two: don't bend over when you are in the rough. Three: when you are in the woods, keep clapping your hands.

Life's a game, all you have to do, is know how to play it.

These attorneys speaking out - they feel a need to defend their clients. Ethics rules (in North Carolina) allow for that. I think any criminal attorney would not be serving their client's interests if they did not speak out.

For current media outlets, this is nothing more than a restating of the rules,

add greater clarity and specificity to rules we already know but weren't as clear.
