She was a very good probate judge. She was well liked and she represented her office very well. Of course she has an excellent support staff and I'm certain they will carry on.

I think it's a good field, and there's still a few to come. We've got a lot of highly qualified people. I don't think the Democrats in Cullman County are quite satisfied with the way things are going. We think it's time for a change.

I received a letter from Betty Friday announcing that she will not seek re-election as probate judge and I was disappointed to hear that. In her letter she thanked the party and her supporters and stated that she plans to remain active in the party.

I'm certain we'll have candidates step forward, but I couldn't speculate on who they may be at this time, because I don't know. It will be interesting to see who runs.

The greatest mistake I made was not to die in office.
