She really has had a large impact on the way that I think and the way that I go about my daily business here at the college and in that sense, thinking and talking about her always is a happy experience for me. She was a really wonderful person.

We thought it would be a very nice tribute to her to offer an award to a female student who was trying to make it in this area of study.

Eliza was very passionate about trying to find ways to make computer science and engineering more appealing to females. She really felt that while there were not physical barriers - we were actively trying to get females into the program - there were probably more implicit barriers.

The political process in the Congo is due to end with the swearing in of a president on 30 June. The conference will be held after this.

At times, late on those nights when the dancing, the slight intoxication, my wild enthusiasm, everyone’s violent unrestraint would fill me with a tired and overwhelmed rapture, it would seem to me—at the breaking point of fatigue and for a second’s flash—that at last I understood the secret; I would rush forth anew. I ran on like that, always heaped with favors, never satiated, without knowing where to stop, until the day -- until the evening rather when the music stopped and the lights went out.
