She read that really difficult scene when she is being confronted [by Mark Ruffalo's character] and told her sister is communicating to him, and she chases him out with a knife. She made me cry. It's a tough scene for an actor to do.

It's important because there are gopher tortoises being killed every day. This would aid in the prosecution of those killed illegally.

(A black bear) needs a lot of space and the way development is going in South Florida, the room it needs is being lost, degraded and fragmented.

Both 'Freaky Friday' and 'Mean Girls' were movies, not unlike this, that you went into with low expectations, but I was delighted by. Romantic comedy is delicate, in developing the story, in casting, getting the right two people together, and directing it. In this one, even more so, because it deals with life and death, too. It could be melodramatic in the wrong hands, and (Waters) needed to balance these elements. I think he was able to let both things live, and that it had an emotional reality but it never let go of its comic heart.

We knew Mark could be funny. Good actors can do anything, and we knew how good he is as an actor. But I think we were amazed at how gifted he is comically.

Perfection is intensely annoying. Audiences were ready for a character who didn't obey the usual pieties of modern life.
