Shaffer had us guessing all night. They just pretty much beat us up big time. I was very upset with my team. We didn't play like we were capable of; we played scared.

We were on our heels all night long. But I tell you what, they flat-out hit the ball.

Three home runs in a night and a bases-clearing double isn't bad. He had a pretty good night at the plate and we got some more production from some other guys in our lineup. That's the key to us winning.

Everyone contributes on this team. There's not one kid that is going to lead us every night.

The kids are pretty happy. They should have the attitude of being able to beat anybody on any given night in our league. We want to win all of our games at home -- that's a big part of it. We still think the winner of league will have (at least) two losses.

It's pretty amazing. It didn't even occur to us last night that he might be the first baby born for the new year. So, it's pretty special.
