In all secrets there is a kind of guilt, however beautiful or joyful they may be, or for what good end they may be set to serve. Secrecy means evasion, and evasion means a problem to the moral mind.

Guilt is what you feel when you have violated values & done something wrong. You believe you have failed to live up to a certain standard set for yourself. Shame says you did something wrong which could have been avoided.

Shame defines your mistakes whereas guilt says “sure, you messed up, all the issues. Guilt is the painful emotion you feel when something you have done is wrong or has failed. Shame goes much deeper than guilt.

Stay away from any minute of joy that can bring you a lifetime of sorrow.
