Sam is not going to overturn Roe v. Wade.

It would be very difficult ... for me to vote to confirm someone whom I knew would overturn Roe v. Wade, because I remember ... what it was like when abortion was illegal in America ... As a college student at Stanford, I watched the passing of the plate to collect money so a young woman could go to Tijuana for a back-alley abortion. I knew a woman who killed herself because she was pregnant.

Anybody who would read this letter from 20 years ago as an indication that he would overturn Roe v. Wade is jumping to conclusions,

We now have five Catholics on the Supreme Court. Must they vote to overturn Roe v. Wade?

I don't think even conservatives believe the court is ready to overturn Roe v. Wade.

I don't necessarily endorse it as a strategy to overturn Roe _ it does not look as if the votes are there (on the high court).
