Right now everyone is doing the same thing...mass care. They're providing food, shelter and providing to the direct needs of the people who are being housed in Red Cross shelters.

It's really not that hard to put food on the table if that's what you decide to do.

We've got nothing, but we have everything we need. I've got my wife, my son. We've got food and shelter, and we feel fortunate to have that because many people don't.

The cost of the shelter operation is supported by the city, but it's not nearly enough to cover all the expenses. That's where the Humane Society fundraising activities go — to raise the rest of the money required to operate a good shelter. We aim to adopt out all the animals we can and save as many as possible.

We're committed to providing ... care that supports people emotionally, psychologically and spiritually and with good quality information offers that total care that isn't provided by medical treatment alone - however vital that medical treatment is. We're interested in working with anyone who will help us with that vision.
