Prayer is an august avowal of ignorance.

To give thanks in solitude is enough. Thanksgiving has wings and goes where it must go. Your prayer knows much more about it than you do.

There are thoughts which are prayers. There are moments when, whatever the posture of the body, the soul is on its knees.

When you lie down with a short prayer, commit yourself into the hands of your Creator; and when you have done so, trust Him with yourself, as you must do when you are dying.

It's an universal law-- intolerance is the first sign of an inadequate education. An ill-educated person behaves with arrogant impatience, whereas truly profound education breeds humility.

If ignorance is bliss, there should be more happy people.
