People who say obesity has been hyped are wrong.

There are far more satisfying explanations for epidemic obesity. We have more calories available per capita per day than ever before in history. And more and more of those calories are packaged in highly processed, flavor-enhanced, processed foods.

Obesity is a significant problem in people and animals.

But I think that the trusts would be better off treating obesity or getting people to lose weight rather than introducing a blanket ban,

Epidemic obesity is unquestionably a health crisis in the United States, and for that matter, in much of the world. But it is a crisis in slow motion, one that has crept up on us over years, and even decades.

Obesity is arguably the gravest public health threat in the United States today.
