Parents can read it to them in advance so they will know what to expect.

We try to break it up. Sometimes they can't handle it all in one sitting.

We have learned to ask questions in ways to get responses and to use words they understand. We tell them what we are going to do before we do it.

Every first visit isn't always the greatest, but eventually they realize that we're here to help them.

If the parents avail themselves to help, then the judge will dismiss the charge and clear their record. However, if they choose to ignore the situation, the punishment becomes harsher.

Parents ask that: 'Will my child just get better on their own?' And yes, they will get better on their own because they will be older but what we find is that they're always a couple of years behind.
