Our presence with the (Williams) students there is not as great just because of the distance and getting the students over there with cars.

Science is difficult for teachers in that if you're going to do hands-on experiments you have to get supplies. There's a lot of organization involved. A lot of times, teachers aren't real comfortable. Maybe they don't have a science background themselves.

Last year, the third grade did a big paper-making project during the recycling unit. Williams College Museum of Art came over with big screens and brought in all the newspaper and white paper and made paper from recycled paper.

[The instructors say it was clear that the students learned a great deal from the 10-week program.] You sort of see this light go off, ... Their editing takes a huge leap. They start creating stories and rhythm and making emotional high points in the film.

Students receiving scholarships are there performing, so you are seeing what you are supporting.

We want students to think about how they schedule their classes on the campus where they live and park. We're hoping to get people on buses instead of driving, especially during peak times.
