Other than Disneyland, it was my first exposure to an imaginative design like that. I got the idea for the Berlin sector from the black-and-white striped guardhouse.

During winter 2013, the Disneyland Railroad station and it's "Population" sign was swathed in a huge tent for refurbishment; when the tent was removed, the updated population sign read 650 million.

Once you needed to put something into the circuit design to differentiate yourself, but not any longer. Product differentiation is now coming from application software and chip sets.

1. Poor design is still design.

We were looking to standardize our design flow to reduce the amount of time we spent recreating parts that would work with one design tool but not another. We had concerns about losing all of our previous designs and libraries. However, after evaluating several vendors, we discovered that with PADS, we were able to get done what we needed to do quickly and cleanly.

You have to think it was by design, that they didn't want to go on a flight with the chance of the passengers working against them. If you've got the threat of a bomb or a gun you can hold people at bay. These guys were strong-arming people with box cutters and knives. They wanted the numbers to be on their side.
