On the broader scale, we hope this event will contribute to their lifetime learning. It's becoming very important to know a foreign language in this world.

This kind of competition is a healthy way to promote learning.

Many of the students that come out here take this competition very seriously.

This was opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge in the Spanish, French and German languages.

I certainly hope that the Jamaican population is watching what is happening with Katrina and learning. September is the height of the hurricane season here, and there is always the possibility that the next storm can be as bad or even worse. People need to respect the power of nature.

We hope to bring more speakers to make the school look better. It will be good learning about what [the speaker] has to say.
